The mission of The Westerners, a FIRST® Robotics Competition team, is to give everyone an opportunity in cultivating a legacy of innovation. Our students and adult mentors work together to learn and apply real-life multi-disciplinary skills, fundamental engineering techniques, and cutting-edge technologies through a creative design process within a culture of personal and team excellence.

Additionally, we strictly maintain a goal of never requiring students to pay any expenses to compete, travel, and be a part of the team. The cost of running a FIRST Robotics team is around $10,000 to just register for the competition. When you add travel and supply costs among others, that results in a huge sum of money needed. While we do fundraise, it is very difficult for us to raise the entire amount, which is why we seek sponsors.

In return for sponsoring our team, companies receive advertisement through their logos on our team merchandise and exposure at FIRST competitions, with thousands of people watching.
